Diploma Schools of Professional Nursing in New Jersey

Several diploma registered nurse programs are offered throughout the state of New Jersey, sponsored mainly by hospitals partnered with Community Colleges. One of these nursing programs is provided by the Capital Health System School of Nursing and Mercer County Community College. All nursing school applicants are interviewed and evaluated individually and those who are admitted into the program begin classes in the Fall semester. Throughout the two-year course of this nursing program students will attend nursing classes at Capital Health System School of Nursing and general education courses at the Mercer Community College. Graduates will earn a Diploma in Nursing as well as an Associate Degree in Science.

With full accreditation from the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, this diploma nursing program has proven to be one of the best in the state. According to the most recent report from the NJ Board of Nursing, Capital Health System graduates of 2007 have received a 96.43% passing rate on the NCLEX-RN examination. Twenty eight students sat for the exam in 2007 and twenty seven of them passed. The cost of tuition and fees for the entire nursing program is approximately $9,675. Nursing students are only required to pay a small part of this estimated cost since the tuition for nursing courses is paid by the Helene Fuld Trenton Scholarship Trust.
